WE ARE REPARATIONISTS
Located in Philadelphia, we are committed to addressing the harms of capitalism, colonialism, and racism in this city. We work toward transformation on the levels of Spirit, relationship, and resources.
We seek to address these harms by:
Guiding a redistribution of resources
Building a culture of reparations city-wide
Abolishing the systems that perpetuate these harms in the first place
Our institutions are showing their limits. Let’s imagine + manifest better ways of being with ourselves, each other, and the world.
repWorks cultivates a robust reparations movement in these ways:
Rise up for Reparations Campaign
A multi-faith campaign in Philadelphia to engage 100+ white majority congregations in sincere and substantive reparations work redistributing land, money, and non-monetary resources. This campaign also hopes to spiritually, socially and politically move congregations towards being in long-term solidarity with our grassroots partners. We strive to provoke healing for all through this campaign.
Grassroots Cultivation
We partner with and connect grassroots organizations rooted in Black and Indigenous liberation work to resources held by white majority faith congregations and affluent organizations. We choose organizations that are focused on 1) just transition of land, 2) building Black/indigenous movement infrastructure, and 3) rest and healing as resistance.
Reparations Salons
We host regular gatherings for the Philly reparations ecosystem to learn together, foster connections, and to provoke action towards systemic repair in Philadelphia.
